Natural Behaviour

Bronze Corydoras are highly social fish and should ideally be kept in groups. A group of 6 or more allows them to display their natural behaviour and gives them greater confidence within the aquarium.

They spend much of their time exploring the aquarium floor, searching through the substrate for food and interacting with other members of their group.

Despite commonly being described as “clean-up fish”, Corydoras should never be expected to survive solely on leftover food. They require their own high-quality and varied diet.

Fine sand is particularly recommended as it allows them to naturally forage without damaging their sensitive barbels.

Bronze Corydoras are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet including:

Breeding

Females typically become noticeably fuller when carrying eggs, while males are generally slimmer and slightly smaller.

During spawning, eggs are deposited individually or in small groups on aquarium glass, plants and other surfaces.
